Nikon 50mm f/1.2 AI on Nikon D70

I just realised that my father nikor lens (50mm f/1.2 AI) can focus on my D70. Not the real AF, but if you try to manual focus the lens, you have to see the green indicator in the viewfinder. If the green indicator is stop blinking then your lens is in focus and you can shoot it right away. Stupid me, I have been using this lens on my D70 for more than 2 years and just realised the secret of the green indicator a couple of days ago. I found the secret on flickr forum site. Please throw me some cake on my face...But I am still dreaming to get the Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.4 D. Maybe someday when I've got enough money. This photograph is shot using that old manual focus lens, check out the sharpness and contrast, nice yaah, this is taken with available light, shuter speed 1/30 and f/2.0, photoshop only for cropping.

Malacca

It's been a long time since I wrote my last blog. I almost forgot that this blog was even exist! It was my niece's blog (anna) that reminds me of my blog. OK, I'll tell you about my journey to Malacca last week end.

Last week end we went to Malacca. Of course with all of my family plus my father in law. He has been in KL for almost 1 week now. He said that he really missed his grandchildren, he always thinking about them in Jakarta. Ohh how sweet is he? Well, anyway, his knee was hurt since he fell in Jakarta a year ago. So, he couldn't walk much!

If you like the detail, Malacca is the second smallest state in Malaysia. It is located in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula, on the Straits of Malacca. The state's capital is Malacca Town. From Kuala Lumpur it's about 200km, or 2 hours with a car at speed limit 110 km.

When we get there we had lunch at Pizza Hut. Why Piza Hut??? Why not trying the real Mallacan food? Well, it's because we bring the kids. It's easier for us to feed them at Pizza Hut than to the unknown food, right? If we didn't bring the kids, maybe we would try to get lunch at the local restaurant.

After lunch, we went to the hottest spot of Malacca where you can find a museum, a very old church, antique's store, Budha's temple, and antique hotel. Most of the old church was built in 18 century, and still in good condition, thanks for the malaysian government, they do really care for the historical building in Malacca.

Before I went to Malacca, I kept thinking that the whole Malacca's town is full with antique's building, old church, old bicycle, but actually it wasn't. Only the small region has some antique's building, and that was only the tourist area. Too bad, we did not spent the night there, after all, I like Malacca, if I have a chance and time, I would love to see Malacca again.

Aya's Mom was here!

Well, after 2 months not seeing her grandson, she's back. This was her picture at petaling street, Kuala Lumpur. Not so crowd on Wednesday night. If you try to come in Friday or Saturday nights, you'll get stuck, too many people will be there. I could not find any good merchandise or food in there, nothing extra ordinary, just some cheap fake Rolex or Casio, some pirates DVD, some fake branded clothes, fake branded shoes. All is fake. I could only enjoy the china town atmosphere, that's all.

Bambi was here

Well, I forgot to write about him. He was in Kuala Lumpur from 10 April to 15 April 2006. He spent three days in KL and two days at Singapore. He wasn't alone, he was with her new girl friend, her name was Non or something, I did not really remember her name was. Anyway, we spent our time together to Bangsar, nice place tough, never been there before, and then too a Shook, very nice place too, but we had a bad experience at one of the restaurant there called 'My Thai'. Bambi's last day in KL was at IKEA, aya's bought much new things there, more than Bambi him self...heheheh. Well Bambi, thank's for visited us, hope you will coming again next time.

Lintang first's time to go to school

Lintang has been attending school for almost 1 week now. For the first 2 days, she had cried, but only for 5 minutes. She did a fine job at school. She is different with his brother, Akira. She is more independent, more self confidence, and most people likes her because she is cute. I am not saying that Akira is not cute, he is cute too, but cute in a different way. Before Lintang went to school, I kept thinking that she might be crying all the time in school. Surprisingly she wasn't! Thank God, I hope she likes her school, her teacher and her new friends. Bravo Lintang!!!

Singapore

Hi, I went to Singapore last week end. Of course not by my self, but with my son Akira and my wife, Aya. Aya took the airplane because her office already bought her a plane ticket. It was a long journey for me and my son, because it took 5 hours to go to Singapore by bus. Why bus? Because it was pretty cheap, about 85 ringgit for each person. Poor Akira, he keeps telling me that he was bored along the way to Singapore. We arrived at Singapore on 23:15. Akira look so tired, because we had to took off from the bus twice for the immigration stuff.

Finally, we arrived at Conrad Hotel at 12:00, Akira told me that our room is so tiny compared to ascott apartment. Yes, our room is so tiny, but who cares, we are gonna stay for only 2 days and it's free..... As long as we could sleep and go to the bathroom. It's OK Akira!!!

Aya left in the early Saturday morning because she has to attend the meeting that would be held from 9 till night. So, it's only Akira and me left. We were having so much fun together. I did not have an ambitious plan to see all of the Singapore in just two days. Akira would be whining and got tired. Mostly we just walk around the Conrad Hotel and came back to Hotel to studied, 'cause Akira will take an exam on Monday. At dawn, we took a boat and have fun together.

We (aya too) met Indra Birowo in the next Sunday morning. We had a cup of cofee at starbucks, chichat and then took a boat (again???) to see Singapore from the river point of view. At 14.30 we were heading back to Kuala Lumpur. Arrived on Kuala Lumpur at 20.00.

Kampung Warisan

At last, after moving our stuff and all of kind of kids stuff from the ascott apartment to kampung warisan, we did move to our new apartment on 3 February 2006. Thanks to Maureen who help us to bring the stuff with her big car. After 1 days stayed at Kampung Warisan, Warsih (our maid) has to go back to Indonesia, because her visa permit will be expired on 3 February.

So, I took her to the KL airport on 2 February and hope that she could take care of her self from the KL Airport to Soekarno Hatta Jakarta. And, Thank God she did! After Warsih departing, who would take care of those 2 kids? Who would give them a food, take them to bath, take care of the food, take care of the laundry? Suddenly I realize that all of Warsih responsibility would be mine soon....

Hello Malaysia

Well...we've been in Kuala Lumpur since January 3, 2006. I was quite surprise with the first apartment that we have. The apartment name was The Ascott, it was more like a hotel than an apartment, because it was really-really a big apartment, 3 room 3 bath room, 1 kitchen...and the room was very-very big. We were happy to live here, Akira and Lintang both looks happy too.

Now, we have to say goodbye to ascott, because 1 week from now we have to move to our new apartment. Our new apartment name is 'Kampung Warisan', it's quite far from KLCC, about 5 stop if you using a LRT to KLCC. Kampung Warisan doesn't look like most apartment we have seen before. It's more like a village, a kampung, surrounded by a giant tree and very quiet, far from the typical busy living of the city.
